MFD-10 – Capacitor Tester

The MFD-10 capacitor tester can reliably test all capaci-
tors from 0.01 MFD up to 10,000 MFD value which in-
cludes all types of start and run capacitors, in the air con-
ditioning and refrigeration industries. The MFD-10 is de-
signed to meet all industrial specifications and service re-
quirements.
Battery Installation
Slide the rear cover down and install (4) AA batteries, as
indicated on the bottom of the battery compartment.
Battery Test
Set scale to 10 MFD. Separate clip wires so that no con-
tact is made. Press activator button… Display should read
8.888. If other numbers appear, batteries are weak and
should be replaced.
Operating Instructions
1. Disconnect power source of capacitor.
2. Ensure that the capacitor is discharged (with bulb or
R ≈ 20Ω).
3. Attach clip wires to capacitor terminals.
4. Set switch to expected capacitor value range. From
0.01 MFD to 10 MFD set switch at 10 MFD. For va-
lues over 10 MFD set switch at 10,000 MFD. Press
read-out button. Value will be on display.
