b) Electrical safety
•
Never pour liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next
to the device. If liquid or an object does get inside the device, power down the
respective socket (e.g. switch off the circuit breaker), and then remove the mains
plug from the mains socket. Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist
repair centre.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. The condensation that forms may destroy the product. The mains
adapter may also generate a fatal electric shock! Allow the product to reach room
temperature before connecting it and putting it to use. This may take several
hours.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are not pinched, kinked
or damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
This poses a risk of injury.
• Never try to operate the USB charger using a non-USB power supply.
• Disconnect the USB charger from the mains after the maximum charging time
has elapsed.
• Only use the USB charger provided to charge the battery in the glow plug
connector.
• Never connect or disconnect the USB charger with wet hands.
• Do not pull on the USB charger cable. Always hold the USB charger using the
casing.
c) Battery
• Always ensure that the battery is inserted in the correct polarity.
• To prevent the battery from leaking, remove it from the device if you are not going
to use the product for a prolonged period. Leaking or damaged batteries may
cause acid burns if they come into contact with your skin. Always use suitable
protective gloves when handling damaged batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying
around, as there is a risk that children or pets may swallow them.
•
Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into open flames.
Never charge non-rechargeable batteries. This may cause an explosion!

Inserting the rechargeable battery
Before using the product for the first time, follow the steps below to insert the rechargeable
battery (included with the product) into the glow plug connector.
• Unscrew the cover (5) with the display instrument counter-clockwise.
• Insert the rechargeable battery into the aluminium glow plug connector, ensuring that the
positive pole is inserted first.
• Screw the cover (5) clockwise and ensure that the spiral spring in the cover is in good contact
with the negative battery terminal.
In exceptional cases, you can use an unused, non-rechargeable battery of a suitable
size to power the glow plug connector. However, please note that the battery
