10. Safety equipment
The "Gravity FPV" Quadrocopter is equipped with a range of safety devices in the transmitter and model
which protect the model aircraft from damage and/or reduce possible damage to a minimum. The protec
-
tive mechanisms are indicated by LED display (model aircraft) or with an optical/acoustic warning signal
(transmitter).
a) Transmitter
The state of the batteries is constantly checked when the transmitter is in operation. If the voltage level of the bat
-
teries drops below a certain value, the transmitter signals this with a permanent flashing of the LEDs on the controls
(figure 4, item 2). In addition, a warning signal sounds ("di di"). In this case, you should immediately stop flying and
replace the batteries in the transmitter.
b) Model
The LEDs in the quadrocopter (in the body) indicate whether the transmitter is "bound" to the model and if there is a
good reception of the transmitter signal. This is indicated by permanently lit LEDs. If the LEDs are flashing, it means
that the quadrocopter is not receiving the transmitter signal correctly. In this case, the so-called "binding" procedure
must be carried out again.
The quadrocopter constantly monitors the voltage of the inserted rechargeable flight battery. When the rechargeable
battery is fully charged, all LEDs in the body of the model are lit (if the LEDs are switched on). If the rechargeable
battery voltage falls below a critical value over a certain period of time, this is indicated by the LEDs flashing (for safety
reasons, this occurs regardless of whether the LEDs have been switched off).
If the undervoltage is permanently below a certain value, an emergency landing is initiated after a short period of time
and the motors are switched off.
If the undervoltage on the quadrocopter is indicated by the LEDs flashing, only about 20 to 30 seconds
flying time remains to autonomously fly the model back to the starting point and land it.
When a certain voltage value of the rechargeable flight battery is reached, motor control is switched off
by the transmitter and an automatic landing is initiated. This process can no longer be influenced by the
transmitter.
If the model is above a body of water, tree, house, road, people, animals, etc. and/or the model is flying
more than one metre above ground at this time, there is a risk of damage to or loss of the model as well as
property damage and injury to surrounding people/animals.
If the model lands on its rear in a failed landing (rotors point to the ground), the motors will switch off. In addition, you
have the option of switching off the motors immediately by pressing and holding the "start rotors/automatic landing"
button (Figure 4, item 4, press control lever from above like a normal button).
Alternatively, you can switch off the motors immediately using the corresponding button (figure 4, item 8).
There is a separate icon in the app for this purpose.
