8. Preparation for takeoff
a) Inserting batteries into the transmitter
Remove the battery compartment cover on the rear side of the trans
-
mitter. To do this, you must slide the lid out to the rear (A). Only then
can the battery compartment lid can be lifted off.
Insert two AAA/micro batteries, observing the correct polarity (B). Ob
-
serve the polarity markings in the battery compartment.
Then replace the battery compartment cover correctly (C).
Operation of the transmitter with rechargeable batteries is
not recommended due to the lower cell voltage (battery =
1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V) and the self-discharge
of rechargeable batteries. Doing so would result in a rapid
message from the transmitter indicating the low state of
charge of the transmitter power supply.
The remote control only uses a small amount of electricity,
therefore disposable batteries will last significantly longer.
We recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries.
b)
Charge flight accumulator
The charging socket is integrated directly into the rechargeable battery
housing. The rechargeable battery is not installed in the model at the
factory and can be connected directly to the charger for initial charg
-
ing. For flight operation, the rechargeable battery must be inserted
into the battery compartment as shown in figure 2 and secured against
loosening with a screw (A).
To charge the rechargeable battery, it must not be removed; the bat
-
tery is charged directly in the quadrocopter (the blade in front of it must
be unfolded).
To power the included USB charger, use a suitable USB power
adapter, USB cigarette lighter adapter, or USB hub with its own power
adapter (not included) with an output current of at least 1000 mA.
Switch off the quadrocopter. Then connect the USB plug of the USB
charger (B) supplied to the USB power supply. Finally, connect the
small plug (C) of the USB charger to the corresponding socket (D) of
the rechargeable flight battery.
The charging process will begin provided that the battery is not defective (high impedance/disconnected) and that
the battery charger is connected to a power supply. The red LED indicator on the battery charger lights up to indicate
that the battery is charging.
•
LED on: The battery is full/fully charged
•
LED off: Battery is charging
