10. Using the model ship
a) Connecting the battery
Remove the hull from the top of the boat. Place the boat on
a suitable object (e.g. the boat stand) so that the propeller
can spin freely.
Install the boat battery (A) opposite the servo and press
it onto the adhesive tape; secure the battery with the ad-
hesive tape.
Leave the speed lever on the remote control in the neutral
position. Switch on the remote control.
The red LED indicator on the remote control will flash rap
-
idly.
Insert the connector on the battery into the BEC socket on
the receiver/speed controller. Ensure that the connector is
inserted in the correct orientation and that the cables can-
not get caught in the motor.
The LED on the receiver will start to flash when the battery is connected. The remote control and receiver will attempt
to establish a connection. After a connection has been established, the receiver LED and the red LED indicator on
the remote control will stay constant. The model boat is now ready for use and you can control the motor and rudder
using the remote control.
During the pairing process, the remote control and model should be within 1 m of one another. Switch off
sources of interference (e.g. other 2.4 GHz remote controls), otherwise the remote control may not be able
to connect to the receiver. If a connection cannot be established, the LED on the receiver will flash, and the
motor/rudder will not respond to the remote control. If this occurs, turn off the remote control, and then turn
it back on after a few seconds to restart the pairing process. You may need to move to another location.
b) Testing the control functions
The boat is ready for use once you have paired the remote control with the receiver (see section 10. a). The motor
should not be switched on or humming at this point. If the motor turns on, disconnect the battery from the boat and
switch off the remote control. Check that the throttle lever on the remote control is in the neutral position, and then
reconnect the model boat to the remote control.
Important!
The propeller is very sharp and may cause injuries and/or damage to property during handling, use, opera-
tion or when the propeller is replaced.
Check the position of the rudder. The rudder must be in the central position when the steering wheel on the remote
control and the trim control are in the neutral position.
If this is not the case, use the remote control to trim the rudder (see section 9). Alternatively (or if the remote control
trim is insufficient), adjust the steering linkage.
