Installation
The motor sound simulator must be installed in the vehicle so that it will remain safely in place
when driving. The housing can be attached, e.g. with double-sided adhesive tape or cable ties.
Observe the example installation in the following figure.
When installing, ensure that the openings of the speaker are not covered. Ensure sufficient
cooling, since the electronics will heat up at higher volumes.
1 Motor sound simulator
2 BEC socket
3 Tamiya socket (connect to the speed controller)
4 Tamiya plug (connect to the drive battery)
5 Servo plug for connection to the receiver
6 Servo connection socket for control cable to the speed controller
7 BEC plug
8 Volume button
Connection
For power supply of the motor sound simulator, a two-pole cable with BEC connection (2) is
routed out of the housing. Connect this connection to the BEC plug (7) of the enclosed interim
plug cable.
Connect the high-current connection of the speed controller to the Tamiya socket (3) of the
interim plug cable.
The servo-Y-cable of the motor sound simulator is connected to the control cable of the speed
controller as well as the associated receiver output. The plug (5) belongs in the receiver. The
speed controller is connected to the socket (6). Ensure correct polarity of the plugs for this.
The servo plug (5) is connected to the channel of the receiver to which the speed controller
was previously connected.
Last, the drive battery is connected to the Tamiya plug (4).
Functional Description
The motor sound simulator is connected directly to the receiver output, which is also used for
the speed controller, via a Y cable. The motor sound is put out according to the throttle position
for the speed controller.
This way, the motor sound is put out accordingly, so that starter, idle or acceleration and full
throttle sounds are possible.
The motor sound simulation starts when you tap the lever for the motor control (throttle/brake
lever) of your transmitter briefly (in the forward driving direction).
The button “+” increases the volume step by step. The button “-” reduces the volume step by
step. In the lowest setting, the installed speaker is switched off.
The motor sound simulator is supplied with power from the drive battery used via an interim
plug due to the required power intake.
