13.0 CHANGING / REPLACING BLADES

The blades have to be exchanged if the blades are worn or another thickness of blade is
required; this takes place according to the following procedure
(See fig.14)
:
!! Ensure that that tractor/Verti-Cut is properly blocked and cannot move
independently !!
!! Ensure that the PTO on the Verti-Cut has been disconnected !!
1.
Remove the engine (1) with the securing plate (2).
2.
Remove the bolts that hold the bearings (4) and remove the entire rotor shaft (3) from
the cage.
3.
Slide the bearing (5) and the distance bush (6) from the shaft and loosen the nut (7).
4.
Now slide the end bus (8), blades (9) and distance bushes (10) from the shaft.
!! Caution! The blades may be sharp !!
5.
Reassemble the rotor shaft by spiralling the blades (11) on to the shaft in stages.
When positioning new blades, make sure the direction of rotation (12) is correct.
6.
Conclude with the end bush (8) and properly secure the nut (7).
7.
Place the rotor shaft (3) in the machine again.
8.
Assemble the bearings (4) on the sides of the machine and securely tighten the bolts.
9.
Slide the engine (1) on the shaft and secure the securing plate (2) to the cage.
