9.3 Weight compensation
If there are small radius bends to be made with the machine, while working, the weight of the head
must be reduced. If not, the head could be pushed to the side and can cause damage to the head
and the lifting mechanism.
Adjust the spring load 2 (Fig. 10b) by inserting bolt 1 through the correct chain shackle. Fine tuning
of the weight compensation can be done by inserting the pin in another hole on the frame (always
adjust both springs the same amount). When the spring load increases (sharper) turns are
possible.
The spring load 2 can be changed only when the aerator / mower is raised sufficiently so that the
spring is not under full tension.
