• pykickstart lacked RAID10 support, so attempting to kickstart with RAID10 software resulted in a
"RAID Partition defined without RAID level" error message and a failure to boot. RAID10 support
has been added, and the kickstart now works as expected. (

Note

RHBA-2009:1056

An updated pyorbit package that fixes a bug is now available.
pyorbit is an extension module for python that gives you access to the ORBit2 CORBA ORB.
This updated package addresses the following bug:
• CORBA object typecodes were being ignored when querying objects from sources other than
ORBit, such as Java. Pyorbit now checks typecode to find stubs for non-ORBit objects, and includes
binary compatibility from upstream modules. (

Users should upgrade to this updated package, which resolves the issue.

1.183.1. RHSA-2009:1176: Moderate security update
Important
This update has already been released (prior to the GA of this release) as the security
errata
RHSA-2009:1176
1454
Updated python packages that fix multiple security issues are now available for Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 5.
This update has been rated as having moderate security impact by the Red Hat Security Response
Team.
Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language.
When the assert() system call was disabled, an input sanitization flaw was revealed in the Python
string object implementation that led to a buffer overflow. The missing check for negative size values
meant the Python memory allocator could allocate less memory than expected. This could result in
arbitrary code execution with the Python interpreter's privileges. (
