REA
VERIFIER
11 Certificate of conformity for REA calibration cards
Confirmation of conformity
for the
calibration and test card of the REA ScanCheck 3n
The white values of the calibration card and the test codes on it have been checked with an REA
PC-Scan reference device. The corresponding reference test report is supplied together with the
card.
The REA PC-Scan reference verifier has been manufactured in accordance with ISO/IEC 15426-1
with primary calibration standards by Applied Image INC. USA. The contrast values have been set
in accordance with the primary calibration standards for contrast values. The metric calibration is
based on the sizing of the U.P.C codes of the aforementioned primary calibration standards.
The calibration card was created photographically as a copy of a glass master. This photographic
process causes the card to be light-sensitive. The calibration card must therefore be stored in a
place that is protected from daylight. Scratches, dirt and other negative influences make the
calibration card unusable.
It should be replaced with a new, original calibration card no more than 2 years after delivery.
Test equipment monitoring
The REA ScanCheck 3n must be checked regularly every 4 to 8 weeks within the framework of test
equipment monitoring. This should take place with the aid of the reference codes on this calibration
card, directly after calibration and with reference to / by means of comparison with the reference
test report enclosed (round stamp).
The additionally supplied test report shows the respective measured values of the device and the
calibration card in new condition, at the time of delivery (green rectangular stamp).
The permissible tolerances for this verifier are specified in chapter 4.6
“Permitted device
tolerances
”. If the tolerances are exceeded, this necessitates factory testing and where applicable
device repair with factory calibration by the manufacturer.
Test equipment calibration
Calibration of the verifier must take place regularly every 4 to 8 weeks and with the application of
reference values for white value and code sizes on this calibration card.
It is always necessary if testing takes place in changing locations and with significant differences in
the lighting conditions. Sunlight and other light sources with a high infra-red content have a
particular effect on the reflection values. If the device reports calibration errors at this time, it must
be sent in to the manufacturer for testing and where applicable repair with renewed factory
calibration.
