Remote Control Buttons
The remote control is capable of controlling your VCR and may be able to
operate many other brands of TVs and VCRs with a few programming steps.
Component Buttons
POWER
Turns off VCR when remote is set to control the VCR. Also turns some
compatible components on and off.
TV
Sets the remote to control the TV.
VCR
Sets the remote to control the VCR.
CABLE

VCR Function Buttons
CH/TRK Up or Down
Selects next higher or lower channel in the VCR’s
channel memory. Lets you manually reduce the streaks that may appear on the
picture during play, slow motion, or pause. Reduces picture “jitter” during stop-
action playback.
CLEAR
Resets time counter to 0:00:00. Allows you to change entries when
setting the clock or a timer recording.
CM-SKIP
Press this button once during playback to advance the tape 30
seconds. Press twice to advance the tape one minute. Press this button
repeatedly to advance the tape an additional 30-second increment for each
press.
(Forward) Fast forwards the tape when the VCR is stopped. Searches
forward through a tape during playback. Starts slow motion during play-pause
and increases slow-motion speed.
EJECT
Ejects the tape that is load when the VCR is stopped.
DISPLAY
Shows the status displays on the TV screen.
INPUT
Selects between the VCR’s line input or tuner. Line input refers to the
signal coming from the component connected to the AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks
on the back (L1) or front (L2).
MENU
Brings up the main MENU on the TV screen.
MUTE
Reduces volume to minimum level.
Numbers (0 through 9 and 100)
Select a channel up to 99 by pressing two
numbers. Select a cable channel over 99 by pressing 100,

appears on the
screen. Then press the other two numbers.
(Pause) Pauses playback or recording. Press
again to return to recording
or press
to return to playback.
(Play)
Plays a tape. Press to return to playback when VCR is paused.
