Using the VCR Plus+ System for Timer Recordings
You can use the VCR Plus+ system to simplify programming timer recordings if you have cable
TV and don’t receive all channels through a cable box or if you receive your TV signal off-air.
How to Set Up the VCR Plus+ System
You will need to invest a little time to prepare the system. First, map local channels for the VCR
Plus+ system using the provided worksheet and abbreviated codes for typical cable services in
the U.S. and Canada (see the next page for the Code Lists and the Worksheet).
1.
Press SETUP/ENTER on the remote.
2.
Use the up and down arrows to display the
VCR & Channel Setup
menu
and press the right arrow to select it.
3.
Use the up and down arrows to point to
VCR Plus Setup
and press the right
arrow to select it.
4.
Select
VCR Channel List.
5.
Use the up and down arrow buttons to point to a channel number that the
DVD/VCR recognizes. If the channel number does not correspond with the
local channel number, use the number buttons on the remote to enter the
correct channel number. Repeat this for each channel number.
How to Use the VCR Plus+ System
To set a timed recording using the VCR Plus+ system menu:
1.
Press the VCR PLUS+ button on the remote.
2.
Enter the PlusCode
®
programming number found in most TV program
listings. Press the remote control’s VCR PLUS+ button to enter.
3.
In the SELECT EVENT screen, make sure the program information is
correct.
Notes
: Use the remote control’s CLEAR button to erase timer programs at
the SELECT EVENT screen.
You can edit timer entries using the remote control’s up and down arrow
buttons to select the desired event, then the right arrow button to display
the detailed information. Follow on-screen prompts to complete changes.
4.
When satisfied that the timer information is correct, press the RETURN
button repeatedly to exit out of menus.
To add more time to the end of each recording session:
1.
Press SETUP/ENTER on the remote.
2.
Use the up and down arrows to display the
VCR & Channel Setup
menu
and press the right arrow to select it.
3.
Use the up and down arrows to point to
VCR Plus Setup
and press the right
arrow to select it.
4.
Select
Timer Extend
and select whether you’d like to extend the timer by
two or five minutes
.
