Here's what to try:
Clock shows incorrect time or date
TV/VCR makes noise when stopped
Will not auto channel search active
channels correctly
Cannot see closed captions on screen
Box appears on screen
TIMER
indicator flashing on front of TV/VCR
Tape plays over and over
Tape starts playing automatically
TV/VCR turns off automatically
TV/VCR turns on automatically
Rainbow effect appears on TV/VCR picture
Cannot record one program while watching
a different program
• Power interruption.
TIMER
indicator flashes on front of TV/VCR.
• Clock was not set accurately (check
AM/PM
and date).
• Time zone or daylight savings time information incorrect. See page 4.
• TV/VCR is removing tape from heads. This is normal. The head cylinder
inside the TV/VCR will continue to rotate for a few minutes after you put the
VCR in the stop mode.
• Check antenna or cable connections.
• Closed caption function must be set to on. See page 9.
• Station may not be broadcasting closed captions.
• A text feature has been selected. See page 9
• Power interruption. Check clock. See page 4.
• Timer program set and TV/VCR turned off with no cassette or cassette with
no safety tab inserted. See page 16.
• Auto repeat play turned on. See page 14.
• Auto play feature turned on. See page 14.
• Sleep timer turned on. Press
POWER
to turn TV/VCR back on.
• Wake up timer (alarm) turned on. See page 10.
• TV/VCR swiveled while it was operating. Unplug the TV/VCR, swivel it
into place, wait one hour, and then plug it back in.
• TV/VCR only has one tuner. Only one program can be watched and
recorded at the same time.
