Appendix A: Connecting the Receiver
Speaker Connections
Speakers
All wires must be securely fastened in their terminals. A loose
connection can cause intermittent sound or noise, and can
damage your receiver.
If you are using Surround speakers, you must connect
both speakers.
Main Speakers
• Connect the left main speaker to the
MAIN L terminals.
• Connect the right main speaker to the
MAIN R terminals.
Rear Speakers
• Connect the left rear speaker to the REAR L terminal.
• Connect the right rear speaker to the REAR R terminal.
• Position the speakers behind you in your TV room. To
improve the surround sound effect, you may prefer to
set or mount the speakers several feet off the floor.
Center Speaker
• Connect the center speaker to the CENTER terminal.
Connecting Speakers to the Receiver
1. If necessary, remove the vinyl covering from the ends of
the speaker wire and twist the wire.
2. Press down and hold the lever on the
speaker terminal.
3. Insert the wire in the hole. Be sure to connect the (+) to
(+) and the (-) to (-). Otherwise, the speakers will not be
“in phase”, causing reduction in bass frequencies.
4. Release the lever. Pull gently on the wire to make sure
it is secure.
Connecting The SubWoofer
1. Using a single audio cable, connect the subwoofer to
the SUB WOOFER 1 or 2 connection.
