Attach the Charged Battery
1. If the DC power cord’s plug is attached to the
camcorder, remove it.
2. Align the reference marks on the battery and
camcorder.
3. Hold the battery flush against the camcorder, and
slide it in the direction of the arrow.
Caution: The camcorder will shut off when the battery reaches empty. The battery should still eject the
cassette when you press the EJECT button. If it does not, do not attempt to force the cassette
compartment open. This will damage the camcorder.

Remove the Battery
1. Slide and hold the BATT (battery) eject lever
on the camcorder while sliding the battery to
the left and off the camcorder.
Check Battery Power (Battery Level Indicator)

Ni - Cd
The battery level indicator (
) appears in the camcorder’s viewfinder to show how much battery
power is left in the rechargeable battery. This indicator is not recorded on the tape.

• This display
shows the amount of power in the battery.
• When the battery is almost empty,
appears.
When the battery reaches empty,
will start flashing.
Recharge the battery or attach the adapter/charger before
continuing to use the camcorder.
Note: The battery level indicator has no meaning when you power
the camcorder with the adapter/charger or optional car cord.
