Charging the Unit

Make sure the unit is turned off before charging

You can charge the unit by plugging the 2.5mm cable (provided) into the
port inside the unit and the other end can be plugged into a PC, Laptop,
or a USB wall charger.  While charging, a solid red light should be visible on
the circuit board.  A full charge should take around 6 hours. Once complete,
the red light will start to flash.

To turn the recorder on and off, insert the thumb tack into the small hole on
the side of the calculator and press the on/off switch. This can be done with
the cover on or off. The recorder is on when the switch is in the down or inward
position. The recorder is off when the switch is in the up or outward position.

Plug the 2.5mm jack

into the Black Vox first

and then to the power

source.  This prevents

shorting the unit out.

Operation

Once the device is fully charged, it is ready for deployment. To prepare the device for
deployment, use the push pin or a paper clip to press the power switch to the on
position.  While in recording mode, the device will only record when it detects sound
and will stop recording when no sound can be detected. Each new recording will be
stored as a separate file.

Pro Tip:

 If the light blinks

instead of turning solid
after you turn the unit on,
the battery is not fully
charged.
