3.3 Personal requirements
The following knowledge is required for commissioning and operating the products of the adlatus
series:

Specialist who, due to his professional training, his basic mechanical and electrical know-
ledge and experience, has the ability to recognize potential hazards and to take appropriate
safety measures. A specialist must comply with the relevant discipline-specific rules.
• Read the user manual
Persons with a lack of knowledge and/or experience are to be instructed in the operation by a spe-
cialist. Physically, sensory or mentally impaired persons should be instructed and supervised by a
person responsible for their safety.
For above activities you are responsible as a customer. Repair work may only be carried out by the
manufacturer, see 1.3.
3.4 Intended use
The electrically height-adjustable workstations of the adlatus series are technical working tools within
the meaning of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EG (complete machine). They may only be used in
accordance with the technical data and safety specifications of this documentation. They are intended
exclusively for lifting and lowering of goods in a technically perfect condition. The internal regulations
and guidelines of the user country must be observed. RAU products coming up with a quality gua-
rantee of 5 years.
3.5 Improper use and residual risks
Another or extended use of the workplaces and its individual parts as well as structural chan-
ges are considered improper and therefore inappropriate. In this case, safety may be impaired.
RAU GmbH assumes no liability for any damage resulting from improper use. The following
are examples of improper use:
• Use contrary to the intended use.
• Use contrary to the operating instructions regarding safety instructions, installation,
operation and faults.
• Allowing moisture on components.
• The carriage and ascent of persons and animals.
• The stay of persons under a loaded workplace.
• Use outdoors or in damp areas.
• Use in potentially explosive environments.
• Using for pulling or pushing objects.
• The operation in case of damage.
