9.4 VERTI-GROOM ATTACHMENT

ADJUSTMENTS
Setting up the machine after fitting the Verti-Groom
attachment.
VERTI-GROOM SETTINGS (Fig.9.4)
The Verti-Groom reel should be parallel to the bed
knife.
1.
Make sure that the Verti-Groom
handwheels are in the down position.
2. To set the Verti-Groom height use the
height of cut setting bar (8.1). Release the
lock nuts (A Fig.9.4) and using the
handwheels (B Fig.9.4) turn in the desired
direction clockwise to raise the Verti-
Groom reel, anti-clockwise to lower the
Verti-Groom reel. A packer of the required
thickness, up to 5mm (3/16in) can be
used on the setting bar to obtain the
required Verti-Groom reel height.
3. When both sides of the Verti-Groom have
been adjusted and are parrallel retighten
the locknuts.
NOTE:
It is recommended that the Verti-Groom reel is
initially set at a position 3mm (1/8in) above the front
roll. The machine should be tried on a green and if
necessary the Verti-Groom reel position altered up
or down to give the desired finish.
9.5 VERTI-GROOM DRIVE BELT
This is located on the RH side of the machine and
is accessed by removing the lid from the drive belt
housing.
TO ADJUST THE VERTI-GROOM DRIVE BELT
(Fig.9.5)
Loosen off the belt tensioner and tension drive belt
by moving the blet tensioner up or down in the
adjusting slot so a deflection of 5mm (3/16in) is
achieved with a force of 2.2Kgs (5lbs) in the centre
of the lower span A (Fig.9.5).
