ADJUSTMENTS
8.8 CONCAVE ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 8.8)
If the grass clippings do not enter the grass box
satisfactorily, the concave needs adjusting.
1.
Ensure that the concave aligns correctly
with the edge of the bottom block.
2.
Slacken the screws (C) which secure the
concave to the top deck.
3.
Move the concave until there is
approximately 1.5mm (1/16in) between the
concave and the cutting cylinder,
measured as near to the centre point of the
cylinder as possible. Should there be
difficulty in obtaining the adjustments, then
reverse the hinge brackets.
4.
Retighten the screws.
As the cutting cylinder gradually wears, it may
eventually be necessary to slightly flatten the
concave to maintain the 1.5mm (1/16in) gap between
the concave and the cylinder and keep the grass
delivery high into the box in wet conditions.
NOTE: The concave must not touch the cutting
cylinder.
8.9 LANDROLL SCRAPER (Fig.8.9)
The Landroll scraper should be taught but not so
taught as to distort the side plates. If the scraper
becomes loose tighten by adjusting the self locking
nuts (A) at each end of the scraper. If all adjustment
is used up replace the scraper.
8.9a LANDROLL CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT
Refer to Fig 8.9a for Marquis & Super Bowl with
Motivair operated landroll clutch
Refer to Fig 8.9b for Marquis, Super Bowl and Super
Certes with cable operated landroll clutch
Slacken locknuts (A) and rotate the adjuster Fig 8.9b
or the locknuts Fig 8.9a so that the lever (B) just
touches the pin (C).
Back-off the adjuster (or locknut) one complete turn
so that the lever is not touching the pin.
Tighten the locknuts to lock the adjustment in this
position.
