Important
Before using your PA Tool be sure
you have obtained competent personal
instruction and read all safety rules and
understand all the instructions in this
manual for safe operation of the tool.
Before handling the tool check that the
tool does not contain live power loads
and that any excess oil is removed from
the lower tool assembly.
Ramset Fastening Tools are designed for the
following applications;
1. Setting drive pins through material (wood,
light gauge metal, hardboard, insulation etc)
into masonry materials or steel, greater than
4mm thick.
2. Setting threaded studs into masonry materials
or steel, greater than 4mm thick for the
attachment of pre-drilled material (wood,
metal, plastics, insulation etc) with nut and
washer.
They should not be used for any other
purpose and the user should
read and fully
understand the Safety Precautions on
pages 3 and 4.
1. Preparation
(a) Put on safety eye and ear protection.
(b) Clear people from local area.
(c) Erect warning signs.
(d) Check the local environment is safe for the
use of PA Tools, ie. free from inflammable
gases, explosive materials etc. Refer Safety
Precautions No. 7, page 3 of this manual.
(e) Check that the material to be fixed into is
suitable for use with a PA Tool. Refer Safety
Precaution Nos. 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and
20, see pages 3 and 4 of this manual. If
in doubt, test material for soundness and
hardness. (Safety Precaution No. 20, page
3 of this manual.) or contact your Ramset
representative.

2. To Cycle the Tool
To open the tool hold the front barrel by the
grip provided, and slide the barrel assembly
forward firmly until it reaches the barrel stop
(Pic. 9).
The piston is returned within the barrel
during this forward movement.

To close the tool, push the barrel assembly back
into the tool until the closed position is reached.
SAFETY WARNING
Always hold the tool pointing
down and away from yourself
and any other person.
Never close the barrel with the
palm of the hand.
