Please insert the SC patch cord into the optical interface and make sure that the connector touches
the bottom of the interface. If the TX and RX direction of the optical signal is not known, users can
connect the optical interface after electrifying the device.
Network management interface:
Please connect the LNK-UP interface with the serial port of PC. If there are several PDH
multiplexers in the cascade of the serial port, please connect the LNK-DWN interface of the device
on the higher level in the cascade with the LNK-UP interface of the device on the lower level in the
cascade, and the LNK-DWN interface on the last device in the cascade will have no connection.
After connecting all the cables, please set the address code for all the devices in the cascade
following the instructions for setting SW2. Different PDH multiplexer in the cascade of one serial
port must have different address code.
Service interfaces on sub-cards:
For different sub-cards, please use cables corresponding to the sub-cards applied. For details, please
refer to the user manuals of sub-cards.
7.2.3 Device electrifying
For device using -48V DC power supply, please connect the “PGND” terminal to the protection earth
first. Before electrifying the power supply cable, please connect the “-48V” terminal with power
supply cable with lower electrical potential and connect the “BGND” terminal with power supply
cable with higher electrical potential. Please tighten the connection and make sure there is no short
circuit, and then turn on the power supply.
For device using 220V AC power supply, please use the power supply cable provided with the device
to connect the device to 220V AC power supply.
After electrifying the device, the power supply status indicator PWR (Green) on the front panel of
the device will turn ON to show that the power supply is working normally.
The device will begin to initialize and self-check after electrifying. The process will take no more
than 10 seconds. During the initialization and self-checking, the optical interface status indicator
LOF and E-6 may flicker for one time, which is a normal phenomenon. The system will begin its
normal operation after 10 seconds.
During the operation, please make sure the optical interface is well connected. If the optical interface
is correctly connected, there will be no LOS, LOF, E-3, and E-6 alarms.
