INSTALLATION GUIDE
Congratulations on the purchase of your new RAIS/attika pro-
duct. This installation guide will make sure that your stove
is installed correctly so that you can continue to enjoy it for
many years to come.
This installation guide is applicable to the Nexo 100, 120,
140, 160 and 190, and also to the corresponding side glass
models.
GENERAL
It is important for the stove to be installed correctly from both
an environmental and a safety point of view.
The stove must be placed on non-flammable material and
freely on the floor.
All local rules and regulations, including those referring to
national and European standards, must be observed when
installing the stove. A chimney sweep should be contacted
prior to setting up.
The stove must not be modified without authorisation.
NOTE
Installation of your stove must be reported to the local chim-
ney sweep before you start using it.
There must be a copious supply of fresh air – or possibly an
AirSystem connection – in the room where the stove is instal-
led so as to ensure good combustion. Note that any mecha-
nical extraction such as an extractor hood may reduce the
air supply.
The stove consumes air at a rate of min. 14.4 m3/h.
The space beneath the combustion chamber is not suitable
for storage of flammable materials unless a reflective plate
is installed.
The floor structure must be able to bear the weight of the sto-
ve and any chimney fitted. If the existing structure is unable
to meet this requirement, appropriate arrangements must be
put in place (e.g. a plate to distribute the load). Consult a
construction expert.
If the stove is installed on a flammable floor, it is necessary to
comply with national and local regulations with regard to the
size of the non-flammable base that will be covering the floor
beneath the stove.
Your stove must be located a safe distance away from flam-
mable materials. Due to the risk of fire, flammable objects
(such as furniture) must not be positioned closer to the stove
than indicated in the sections relating to positioning. When
deciding where to position your RAIS/attika stove, you should
consider heat distribution to other rooms so that you derive
as much benefit as possible from your new stove.
You should examine your stove for any defects
when you receive it.
CHIMNEY
Your chimney must be high enough to allow it to draw proper-
ly, i.e. -14 to -18 pascal. There may be problems with smoke
emerging out of the door when a fire is burning if the recom-
mended chimney draught is not achieved. We recommend
adapting the chimney to suit the flue outlet collar. The flue
outlet collar is 150 mm in diameter.
If the chimney is drawing too vigorously, we recommend pro-
viding the chimney or flue with a regulating damper. If this is
fitted, it is necessary to ensure a clear throughflow area of at
least 20 cm² when the regulating damper is closed.
Remember that the cleaning hatch on the chimney must be
kept clear.
