Remote Connection

KW 4V8

Run cables with small diameter from the car radio or CD-player-remote terminal to the preamplifier and attach to
the white cable „REM IN“ (

3

). Lay the blue cable “REM OUT” (

4

) to the amplifier and connect with the remote

input on the amplifier.

When switching the car radio/CD player on and/or off the amplifier is switched on and/or off over a soft muting
with a time delay of approximately one second.

Switching On / Control Function with LED

The powering on of the preamplifier is indicated by the green LED “PWR” (

21

). The preamplifier switches on with

a time delay of approximately one second. Uncontrolled motion of the loudspeakers is suppressed by this soft start
when switching on the amplifier.

„INPUT“ Connection: Preamplifier Input

Via RCA Cable from Pre-Out on Car Radio / CD-Player:
The output signal of the car radio/CD playler is fed by means of a RCA cable to RCA sockets „INPUT FRONT“
(

6

) R (right) and L (left) and „INPUT REAR“ (

7

) R (right) and L (left). Input volume is regulated by the

Potentiometer „GAIN“ (

15

) for „FRONT“ and Potentiometer

„GAIN“ (

20

) for „REAR“, and the „SENSITIVITY“

(

10

) switch from 400 mVolt (MAX) to 4 Volt or 8 Volt (MIN).  The „LEVEL INPUT“switch (

9

) should remain on

position „LOW“.

For subwoofer operation the preamplifier can be supplied by only one input signal, „INPUT REAR“ (

7

R (right) or L (left), as preferred. For this the „MONO“ switch (

14

) should be set to „ON“. This simultaneously

activates the phase shifter. The phase of the „REAR“ channels can be adjusted from 0° to 180° by the
Potentiometer „PHASE“ (

19

).

Direct from Loudspeaker-Outputs of Car Radio:
The loudspeaker output signal of the car radio is fed by means of a high-level adaptor cable (Art. No. 273031 2m,
273032 5m) at the RCA sockets „INPUT FRONT“ (

6

) R (right) and L (left) and „INPUT REAR“ (

7

) R (right) and

L (left). The input volume is adjusted with the Potentiometer „GAIN“ (

15

) for „FRONT“ and Potentiometer

„GAIN“ (

20

) for „REAR“ and the „SENSITIVITY“ (

10

) switch from 400 mVolt (MAX) to 4 Volt or 8 Volt

(MIN). The „LEVEL INPUT“ switch (

9

) must remain on the „HIGH“ setting.

Caution:

Use of

different RCA cable lengths could potentially lead to potential differences. A variation in

lengths can cause a ground loop, resulting in unpleasant generator distortion.

Do not lay RCA cables

parallel with power cables, in order to prevent distortion couplings.
