Basic Operation
TheThrottle knob controls how fast your train willtravel.
Turnthe throttle knobup½-way,untiltheengineandcabooselightsshinebright.
Put the engineintomotionby pressing theDirection b utton o n y our transformer
once. (hold it for approximately 1 second)
Iftheenginedoesnotbegintomoveassoonas you firmly press t h e Direction button,
you m a y not have s ent enoughvoltage to the tracktomakethe train move. Turnthe
throttle upa bit higher until t he train begins to move.
You can lock y o u r engine intoa direction (forward, neutral,or reverse) sothatitwillnot
change directions. To do this,put the engine intothe direction youwant,then remove the
enginefromthe track and slide the ON/OFFswitchlocatedon the bottomoftheengine
to the OFFposition.
The engine w i l l not changedirection(includinggoing into neutral)
until youfliptheswitchbacktoON to return the engine to its normalcondition,even if
the engineis kept without powerforextended periodsoftime.

To increase ordecrease track
voltage, and therefore train s peed,turn the
throttle control knob. Turningit clockwise
willincrease voltageand speed, while
turning itcounterclockwise will decrease
voltage and speed. Theenginewill maintain
the speedyousetafteryoureleasethe
throttle until youturnitagainto changethe
voltage and speed.
- To sound thewhistle,
firmly press the Horn/Whistlebutton. The
horn willsound foras long as youcontinue
to depressthebutton. It w i l l stopwhenyoureleasethe button.
Your train isprogrammedtostartin neutral.
Thetrainwillalwayscycle neutral-forward-neutral-
reverse witheach press and release of the direction
button. The engineis programmed torestartinneutral
each timethetrackvoltageisturned offfor 25 seconds
or more.
