TROUBLESHOOTING
We do not expect you to have any problems with your TAD-1017, but if you do, try
these suggestions. If you still have problems, take your TAD-1017 to your local Ra-
dioShack store for assistance.
Problem

There is no dial tone.
Check all phone line connections.
Make sure the AC adapter and battery pack are
properly connected.
Make sure the battery pack is properly charged.
The handset loses the security access-protection
code when the battery pack loses its charge. To
correct this, place the handset on the base (see
“Connecting and Charging the Battery Pack” on
Page 12).
You hear noise in the hand-
set, and none of the keys
work.
Make sure the AC adapter and battery pack are
properly connected.
Press
CH
to change the channel (see “Changing
the Channel” on Page 15).
Noise, static, or weak signal
when the phone is away
from the base.
Move the handset closer to the base or relocate
the base.
Noise, static, or weak signal

Make sure the base’s antenna is in a vertical posi-
tion.
The TAD does not answer
calls.
Make sure the TAD is turned on.
