3. Place the tab into the slot above the com-
partment, then snap the cover into place.
When the headphones stop operating proper-
ly, replace or recharge the batteries.
Warnings:
• Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire
because they can explode.
• Do not open or mutilate a battery. Swal-
lowing a battery can be fatal.
• Be careful not to short the batteries with
conducting materials, such as rings,
bracelets, and keys. The batteries or the
conductor might overheat and burn.
• Do not attempt to charge alkaline batter-
ies.

on the nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd)
battery indicates RadioShack is
voluntarily participating in an in-
dustry program to collect and recycle these
batteries at the end of their useful life, when
taken out of service in the United States or
Canada. The RBRC program provides a con-
venient alternative to placing used Ni-Cd bat-
teries into the trash or the municipal waste
stream, which may be illegal in your area.

7422) for information on Ni-Cd battery recy-
cling and disposal bans/restrictions in your ar-
ea. RadioShack’s involvement in this program
is part of the company’s commitment to pre-
serving our environment and conserving our
natural resources.
Charging Rechargeable Batteries
Before using your headphones for the first
time, you must charge the headphones’ bat-
teries for at least 24 hours. If the headphones’
range decreases or you do not hear sound
from the audio source, recharge the batteries.
It takes 12 to 14 hours to completely recharge
the batteries.
1. If necessary, press
POWER ON/OFF
to
turn off the headphones.
Note: You cannot charge the batteries
with the headphones turned on.
2. Plug the supplied charging cable with a
3.5 mm mono plug at each end into the
CHARGE
jack on the left earpiece.
3. Plug the other end of the charging cable
into the transmitter base’s
CHARGE
jack.
The indicator beside the jack on the
transmitter base lights.
4. When charging is complete, unplug the
charging cable. The indicator beside the
jack on the transmitter base turns off.
OPERATION
Listening Safety
To protect your hearing, follow these guide-
lines when you use headphones.
• Set the volume to the lowest setting
before you begin listening. After you
begin listening, adjust the volume to a
comfortable level.
• Do not listen at extremely high volume
levels. Extended high-volume listening
can lead to permanent hearing loss.
• Once you set the volume, do not increase
it. Over time, your ears adapt to the vol-
