Your phone is preset so you must press

 to answer a call. With Auto Talk turned on, 

you can answer a call by just lifting the handset 
from the baseor cradle. Auto Talk is independent in 
each handset. You can set each handset differently.

You can store your local area code in the phone’s 
Caller ID record so the area code does not appear if 
the received call is from your local area. If for some 
reason you need to dial the area code (or store it in 
memory), you can add it afterwards. See “Adding/
Deleting the Area Code” on Page 24.
