Using Long Period Alert (LPA)
Your pager is preset to alert for 8 seconds then stop,
each time you receive a new message (see “Receiv-
ing and Reading Messages” on Page 18). However,
you can set the pager to briefly alert every 2 minutes
(up to 12 hours) until you read all new messages.
Follow these steps to turn long period alert on or off.
1. At the standby display, repeatedly press
until
the pager displays

On

LPA
OFF

2. Press
so the pager beeps once.
If you are turning LPA on, the standby display
reappears
with the long period alert symbol (
).
If you are turning LPA off, the standby display
reappears
without the long period alert symbol.
