Installing the Storage System into the Tower Stand

Remove the storage system from its shipping carton and inspect for obvious damage.

Remove and open the accessory kit. Inside you will find the power cable(s), serial
communication cable, and the documentation/software CD. Also you will find a
QuickStart instruction page that provides accelerated procedures to setup the
enclosure.

Open the left and right flaps on the Accessory Box Insert. Remove the bezel and
mounting rail kit.

Lift the Foam Pad from the Drive Tray and remove the disk drives from the Foam
Drive Tray. Then remove the Drive Tray from the box.

Remove the top foam piece from the enclosure chassis and lift the enclosure from
the box. Place the enclosure on a flat work surface.

Remove the power supplies.
Grasp the power supply handle and slide the release latch to the right with your thumb
as you pull the power supply from the enclosure. Repeat for the other power supply.

Remove the cooling fan module.
Place your finger in the handle and slide the release latch to the right with your thumb
while pulling it from the enclosure.

Remove the tower stand case from its shipping carton and inspect for obvious
damage.

Locate the accessory kit in the tower shipping carton. It should contain eight 10-32
pan head screws and conversion instructions. (The Conversion Instruction enclosed in
the box are applicable to converting an existing rack mount installation to a deskside
tower system.)

Rotate the enclosure chassis so that the power supply bays are on the top.

Carefully slide the enclosure chassis into the tower stand until it fits flush as indicated
by (A) in the illustration on the following page.

Secure the top and bottom front mounting ears to the tower stand using two each
10-32 pan head screws as indicated by (B) in the illustration on the following page.

Install the rear mounting rails into the slots at the rear of the chassis as indicated by (C)
in the illustration on the following page.

Secure the top and bottom slide rails using the remaining two sets (4) of 10-32 pan
head screws.
