a) Calculating waiting time X:
The preset standard value of 5 seconds is
approximately the correct value for front
hopper machines on a circular spike harrow
or compact harrow.
On drawn combi-speed machines, the
time is slightly shorter; in the case of
front hopper machines with an additional
agropack, the time is slightly longer.
Determine the correct time as follows:
Raise the machine, switch on the
electronics, and set the fan to its nominal
rpm.
Engage the handbrake. Alight from the
tractor and ensure that the metering wheels
are completely full.
Place a bucket or similar below a blade.
Bring the machine into its working position,
and turn the ground wheel briefly, or
activate the radar briefly in order that some
seed flows.
The time for the first seed to reach the
bucket, less one second, is the correct
waiting time
X
.
b) Calculating reaction time Y:
The preset standard value of 5 seconds is
normally sufficient.
The time is very dependent on the speed of
reaction of the driver.
It is suggested that the reaction time Y
is not normally modified.

4.4.4 TL (tramline)
reduction
Press the
<4>
key on the numeric
keypad to access the TL menu. This menu
determines the number of distributor outlets
and the number of tramline rows through
the use of keys
<S1>
,
<S2>
,
<S3>
,
<S4>
, and
<S5>
. The entry made must be
confirmed with <Return>.
The two entries are used to calculate the
reduced seed quantity when switching
tramlines. The value is shown in the lower
right of the display (
fig. 57
).
