7 – Preparig for use
Before using the machine it is necessary to perform the following controls with the
two-wheel tractor or tractor off and the key off:
1. Perform a general visual inspection of the implement. Verify the correct mounting of the
components (mechanical parts and guards). Do not use the implement if you experience an oil
leak and/or if you see that parts of the implement are damaged, missing or not properly secured.
2. Check the correct coupling of the milling machine to the two-wheel tractor (see paragraph 6.2 on
page 12);
3. Check that the hoes are intact.
4. Check that the safety signs are in place and legible.
8 – Adjustments
8.1 Adjustment of the working depth, of the extension sides and of the front scraper.
The provided roller adjuster screw sets the working depth.
In reference to the driving position of the operator (fig. 8):
- turning the roller adjuster clockwise, the roller rises and the hoes penetrate further into the soil
(major working depth);
- turning the adjuster counter-clockwise, the roller sinks and the hoes rise referring to the ground
(minor working depth).
To carry the machine not at work mounted on the two-wheel tractor , turn the register anti- clockwise
until the hoes will get away from the soil (Fig. 9); in this way the roller will function as a wheel.
Do not operate the milling group for any reason when the machine is lifted from the soil.
According to the working depth and to the wear of the hoes, it will be necessary to adjust the position
of the extension sides and the front scraper.
For a correct adjustment of the extension sides and of the front scraper see paragraph 8.3.
In order to prevent the hoes from remaining exposed and to avoid any
dangerous situation during the milling, it is important that the extension
sides are adjusted in such a way that they always touch the soil and that
the front scraper skims the soil; the extension sides and front scraper
adjustment must be made with the two-wheel tractor off and the key off.
Do not operate the milling group for any reason when the machine is lifted
from the soil.
For a correct adjustment of the extension sides and of the front scraper
see paragraphs 8.2 and 8.3.
8.2 Scraper adjustment
The scraper levels the soil while the machine is moving forward.
The scraper must be adjusted according to the working depth chosen, acting manually on the two
special screws ( Fig.10). Make sure that the tips of the special screws fit in the niches of the scraper
supports.
For a correct scraper adjustment see paragraph 8.3.
Make the scraper adjustment with the two-wheel tractor or the
tractor switched off and the key removed. Wear the protective
gloves to prevent the hands skin from injuring.
