Encoder Operation
This section explains how to start and stop the QVENC4K for video encoding. This section
assumes that you have already created one or more encoding profiles as per Section 2, above.
3.1 Starting and Stopping the Encoder
Enter
http://IPAddress
where
IPAddress
is the IP address of the encoder.
1. Select the
Profile
menu on the left side of the web page.
2. Click the
Start
button associated with the profile you wish to run.
3. To confirm that the encoder has started, click on the
Dashboard
to confirm that the
Bit
Rate
is non-zero. If you have trouble starting the encoder, please check that the SDI Lock
indicator light on at the back right side of the encoder is lit. If not, then check your source. The
Encoder/Messages
page should also provide details about the encoder operation, and may
help pinpoint why the encoder did not start. Figure 12 provides an example of the Dashboard
when outputting an ARQ stream on GigE 2. Note that the
Send
bit rate is as expected for
outputting a video stream, in this case, 14.1Mbps.
4. Clicking
Stop
will stop the encoder. You can edit any encoder parameters while the encoder
is running, both for the current profile and other profiles. However, to change settings or
profiles, you must first click Stop and then click on
Start
to restart the encoder with a new or
updated profile.
Note:
If you wish to reconfigure the encoder, remember to first
Save
any configuration changes
before
restarting the encoder. A message will appear at the top of the page to confirm that your
changes have been saved.
