(air) instructions
Pitching:
How to erect your awning.
• Guideline :
This instruction is a guideline on how to erect your awning. With time and experience you may find your own way to erect your awning, but
whatever way you erect your awning, you should always ensure that the fabric is tight, use all pegging points and storm straps and you have enough water
run off to ensure no issues occur during use.
• Step 1 : Preparation
First remove the awning from the bag and separate the awning from the pump and peg(s). Place the awning on the floor next to your vehicle, ensuring that it
is not twisted and caught up in the storm straps as this can make it more difficult to pitch the awning.
• Step 2 : The awning channel.
Next slide the awning beading (shown in image overleaf) located at the top of the awning into the awning channel on your vehicle. There is usually an opening
at around 1M on the left hand side of your vehicle, but this will depend upon your make and model. Slide the awning though the channel until it is located
along the flat part of the channel at the top of your vehicle. You can place it anywhere along the flat part of the awning channel, it is up to you, but it must go
on the flat part only. At this point we recommend pegging the two rear points. This anchors the awning down and helps ensure it stays in the correct position.
Optional
: If you have the optional rear leg poles, then this is a good time to put these in as they hold the draught pad against the vehicle. To fit the rear leg
poles simply extend the pole into the pocket at the top of the draught pad and extend the poles down to the ground. The pole is then pushed against the
draught pad to hold the pad against the side of the vehicle. Use the velcro tabs on the pad to hold the pole in position.
• Step 3 : The air beam.
Next screw the valve into the main beam (air inflation position shown overleaf) and then inflate the air beam using the pump provided. The pump has a dump
valve on it to ensure you do not over inflate the awning. Simply inflate the main beam until the air comes out of the dump valve rather than into the awning, at
which point you will hear a difference as the air will come out of the dump valve when you depress the pump.
Optional
: If you have the roof storm air beams, then this is a good time to put these in as they give you extra tension in the roof and make pegging out
slightly easier. Simply pump up each beam and place then into the roof where the velcro pads are to hold them into place. The centre tube has a clear sleeve
to hold the beam in place. The two side roof beams have a velcro strap (approximatly half way) to help hold them in position. If you find any of the roof beams
are too difficult to put in, then try letting a little air out, putting them back an and then topping the air up afterwards.
