Smart Module Series
SC200L_Series(Dual-band Wi-Fi)_Hardware_Design 38 / 111
3.7. Battery Charging and Management
The module supports battery charging and the charger IC supports trickle charging, constant current
charging and constant voltage charging modes.
⚫
Trickle charging
: There are two steps in this mode. When the battery voltage is between 1.1 V and
2.05 V, a 70 mA trickle charging current is applied to the battery. When the battery voltage is charged
up and is between 2.05 V and 3.05 V, the charging current can be set to 450 mA maximally.
⚫
Constant current mode (CC mode)
: When the battery is increased to between 3.05 V and 4.18 V,
the system will switch to CC mode. The charging current is 0.9 A when an adapter is used for battery
charging, and the maximum charging current is 450 mA for USB charging.
⚫
Constant voltage mode (CV mode)
: When the battery voltage reaches the final value 4.18 V, the
system will switch to CV mode and the charging current will decrease gradually. When the battery
level reaches 100 %, the charging is completed.
Table 9: Pin Definition of Charging Interface
The module supports battery temperature detection in the condition that the battery integrates a
thermistor (10 k
Ω 1 % NTC thermistor with a B-constant of 3380 K by default and the thermistor should be
connected to the BAT_THERM pin. If the BAT_THERM pin is not connected, there will be malfunctions
such as battery charging failure, battery level display error, etc.
