System Update
QNAP may release new fi rmware for system enhancement on an irregular basis. For more information, please visit
QNAP website http://www.qnap.com.
You can update the NMP-1000 fi rmware by the following two methods:
1. Update the system from the local disk or a USB storage device.
2. Update the system by the web-based interface.
Note: Make sure there is at least 256MB of free storage space on your local disk or the USB storage device for saving the fi rmware image fi le before
updating the system. The user accounts and system settings may be lost, please back up your system accordingly.
Note: The update process takes about 10 minutes. The system will
restart automatically after the update completes. Do NOT unplug
the power cable of the NMP-1000 during the process to avoid
system crash.
Method 1: Update the NMP-1000 from the local disk or a USB storage device
Step 1. Download the latest NMP-1000 fi rmware from QNAP website http://www.qnap.com/. Save and unzip the fi rmware image fi le,
e.g. U_NMP-1000_20090101-1.0.0.img, on the local disk of the NMP-1000 or on a USB storage device.
Step 2. Turn on the NMP-1000 and the connected TV.
Step 3. Use the remote control to go to “System Settings” >
“System update”.
Step 4. Select “Firmware update”.
Step 5. Browse to where you have stored the fi rmware fi le and
press “OK” to start the fi rmware update.
