The bladder pump has two alternating cycles
(refer to figures 2 & 3).
Discharge Cycle
During the discharge cycle, air forced into the space
between the pump body and the pump bladder
squeezes the water inside the bladder into the
exit/entrance holes of the fill rod. As air pressure
increases, liquid having no place else to go is forced
up the discharge line and to the surface. At the same
time, the top check ball rises with the discharging
liquid while the bottom check ball is forced down by
the air pressure; this seals the pump inlet so that no
water can enter the bladder chamber.
