QTS Series Twin Screw Positive Displacement Pump

QTS-M04

Mechanical Seals Replacement 

1. Here is a description of the procedures for inspection and replacement of the mechanical 

seals. Every pump has two mechanical seals.

2. Single mechanical seal kit: it contains 

components

3. Double mechanical seal kit:  It contains all 

components of the single mechanical seal 

plus components

; in this case the 

stainless steel seal housing (

) is replaced 

by the seal housing (

) which is already 

included on the double mechanical seal kit.

4. The mechanical seal should be installed 

using your hands only. No special tools 

are required unless it is indicated. You may 

use a hook to take out the O-rings from 

their grooves.  Be careful not to scratch 

the seal faces.

5. Look for defects on the sealing surfaces such as scratches or wear. If a replacement is necessary, 

it is recommended to change all components to ensure proper operation. If an O-rings is deformed 

or damaged it is recommended also to replace the entire set of O-rings.
