USING THE DEVICE
“Pure” Continuous Air Desinfection Devices for Indoor Spaces (CADDIS) use Ultraviolet Germicidal
Irradiation (UVGI) technology, an extremely effective, low-cost, eco-friendly method, which destroys
all microorganisms that exist in the air of interior areas, aiming directly to their RNA and DNA.
Through ultraviolet radiation UV-C (253,7 nm) “PURE" C.A.D.D.I.S. can not only neutralise up to 99,9% of
all known airborne bacteria and viruses, the growth of fungi, unpleasant odours, allergenic substances
and volatile organic compounds, but also minimise the spread of viral and bacterial infections without the
use of chemical substances, biological filters or any other already existing methods.
World Organisations and Institutions such as FDA, WHO, CDC, ASRHAE, HPA have already included the
UVGI technology in their Health and Safety Protocols.
The main advantage of our devices against any other using instant radiation by exposed UV-C lamps which
can be very harmful to the skin and the eyes, is that the UV-C radiation of the air in our systems takes
place inside a closed chamber deep inside the devices, without the slightest leak to the environment. The
air gets sucked from the back side of the devices, is then driven through
an active carbon filter to the
closed chamber where it gets radiated at 253,7 nm and desinfected, and finaly exits from the front side. In
this way in our C.A.D.D.I.S. an absolutely SAFE and TOTAL desinfection of the air of any indoor space can
be achieved.
Another concern is that most air sanitising devices that use UV technology also produce ozone(O
3
), which
at a high concentration is toxic to plants and animals. UV-C radiation reaches its optimal germicidal
strength near 253.7 nm. Because ozone may only be produced below 200nm, at 253.7 nm the germicidal
wavelength
does not generate ozone . In addition, the UV-C lamps used in the “Pure” C.A.D.D.I.S. are
produced with doped quartz glass which blocks the transmission of the 185 nm ozone-producing
wavelength
.
The application of “PURE” C.A.D.D.I.S. can be considered as an ideal tool for diminishing the risk of
transfection in all health controlled environments and a necessary addition to all the procedures
concerning the control of the microbial content in the air of offices, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools,
nursing homes etc. As a result to this, they can be included in the RISK MANAGEMENT of related quality
standards of the air of indoor spaces.
This device must be used exclusively to desinfect the air of indoor spaces. Any other use of it should be
considered inappropriate and therefor dangerous. The manufacturer bares no responsibilitry in case of
damages due to improper use of it or misuse.
