Installation

To install the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system, please 
perform the following steps in the order suggested.

1.

Check the scope of delivery (see 

Scope of Delivery

 on page 28), read 

Safety Precautions

 starting on page 28 and information on 

Mounting 

Location

 starting on page 32.

2.

Mount the device on the wall (see 

Wall Mounting

 starting on page 33)

3.

If multiple hardware units are being operated: configure installation 
switch(es) for additional hardware units (see 

Configuring Installation 

Switch

 starting on page 42).

4.

Connect terminals (see 

Interface Assignment, Cable Length

 starting on 

page 51)

5.

Connect the power cord to the communications system; switch on power 
supply and wait for the system to initiate (takes about 5 minutes)

Connect the PC to the hardware module for initial configuration, which 
was configured as the call server with the installation switch; use LAN1 or 
LAN2 to do so
