13.1
Construction and function
The amplifier electronics are located in the upper part of the shaft, embedded in a plastic mass. The
amplifier electronics convert the primary sensor current into a CAN-bus signal for the measuring/
control unit. Voltage supply is via the CAN-bus cable.

Intended use
The sensors with CAN connector may only be
connected to the CANopen bus of a ProMinent
measuring and control unit.
Try not to turn the adapter. This can damage
the electronics in the sensor.
13.3
Directives and standards
adhered to
Fulfilled CAN standards and specifications: In
respect of the hardware, the unit complies with
the harmonised CAN specification 2.0
(ISO99-1, ISO99-2). This includes the CAN
protocol (ISO 11898-1) and details on the phys‐
ical layer in compliance with ISO 11898-2 (high
speed CAN up to 1 Mbit/sec) and ISO 11898-3
(low speed CAN up to 125 kBit/sec).
The unit complies with the CAN-Open specifi‐
cation CIA-DS401 that forms the basis of the
European standard EN 50325-4.
It also complies with the controller device pro‐
file CiA-404.
13.4
Installation
The packaging includes a CAN-BUS branch
line and a CAN-BUS T-piece. Connect the
CAN-Bus sensor to the main CAN-BUS line of
your measuring system.
Install the sensor as described in the operating
instructions for the measuring and control unit.
