Operation
Hints
The hoist is equipped with two safety switches, which turn the hoist off on the
upper and the lower stop.
Make sure the cable coils onto the drum in an ordinary fashion (Fig. 2, P. III)
After the cable has been extended, several turns remain on the cable drum
when the hoist is turned off. This is necessary for safety reasons and desired.
If the cable hoist is not able to lift a weight, immediately switch off the hoist in
order to avoid damage and accidents.
Ensure the load is securely fastened onto the lifting hook and keep clear of
load and steel cable during operation. Never walk underneath a raised load!
Please remember that the hoist can run on for a few centimetres when
stopping, so always stop the hoist in good time!
Pay attention at all times that the steel cable is never deflected by more than
15°.
Only use the cable hoist up to its maximum load capacity. For load capacity,
see the technical data.
The motor is equipped with a temperature fuse against overheating by
overload. After a resting time for some minutes you can use the unit again.
The intermittent operation defines the proportion between the resting time and
the operating time. The intermittent operation is calculated in an ambient
temperature of 40°C within a cycle time of 10 min = 100%.
During an intermittent operation of 20% the operating time is about 2 min. after
a resting time of 8 min.
Please note that by increasing the load the max. operating time is smaller and the
resting time longer. If the load is less heavy the operating time will be longer.
Maintenance
Periodically check the power cord and the cable of the switch case.
Lubricate the steel cable and the pulley every 200 cycles of operation with a
lubricant for steel cables or with penetrating oil.
Check the steel cable after every 30 cycles of operation. If there are any
damages such as broken wires, damage or severe kinks on the steel cable
(Fig. 3, P. III), have it replaced by a professional.
