3.7 Adjusting the start address and the number of DMX channels
For operating the ARCLED345 with a light controller, adjust the DMX start address for the first DMX channel.
If e. g. on the controller the address 17, is provided for controlling the unit, adjust the start address 17 on
the ARCLE345. Then the other functions of the unit are automatically assigned to the following 10 channels
(in this example 18 to 27). As the next possible start address for the following DMX-controlled unit, the ad-
dress 28 could be used for this example. By using FUNCTION and buttons it is possible to set up
the start address. Once the unit receives a signal for the control unit, the display will show the current start
address value.
Moreover, for same start address, further 64 Sub-ID address are available.
• If the DMX value of the 10 channel is between 001 and 003, the units will be controlled by DMX in normal
way and will be not influenced by Sub-ID address setting.
• If the DMX value of the 10 channel is between 004 and 255, the units will be controlled by DMX and will
respond accordingly with the Sub-ID address setting.
The Sub-ID address value is obtained by dividing the DMX value /4.
Example 1.
If the DMX value = 13 than the corrensponding Sub-ID value will be 13/4 = 3.25, so the value will be 3.
Example 2.
N.1 ARCLED345: start address =5 - Sub-ID=1
N.2 start address =5 - Sub-ID=2
DMX Channel 10: for values between 001 and 003 both of two units will be controlled.
DMX Channel 10: for values between 004 and 007 only the ARCLED345 N.1 will be controlled.
DMX Channel 10: for values between 008 and 011 only the ARCLED345 N.2 will be controlled.
