energy control
The energy output is regulated over seven f-stops.
The energy can partly be adjusted with the Energy Switch [16] in 2 f-stop increments, from
1/1 down to 1/16 of the total energy (equivalent to five f-stops). Fine adjustment of the
energy is made with the Energy Control [15] in 2/10 f-stop increments.
Since the generator has auto dump functionality, there is no need to trigger a flash to
discharge the generator when the energy level is lowered.
recycling time
The flash recycling time depends on the energy level setting. When a short recycling time is
required, the energy level shall be set as low as possible. The recycling time is also affected
by the battery type, see section
Technical data
.
Modeling light
The modeling light is constant and does not vary with the selected energy level. The
maximum modeling light is 65 W, which with the high efficient 65 W Halostar
TM
halogen
lamp is equivalent to a 90 W standard halogen lamp.
The Profoto Adapter 85 W can be connected to the generator for unlimited usage of
modeling light. When the Profoto Adapter 85 W is connected, no power will be discharged
from the battery for the modeling light.
The Modeling Light Switch [11] is used to select one of three modeling light alternatives:
• EXT: This position shall be used when the Profoto Adapter 85 W is connected to the
Modeling Light Power Socket [3].
• BAT: In this position, the modeling lamp is powered from the battery.
• OFF: In this position, the modeling light is turned off.
Sync signaling
The AcuteB2 generator can be synchronized with the camera in different ways; via cable,
photocell or via radio.
• The Sync Socket [5] allows the camera or a flash meter to be connected. The 5
meter sync cord can be extended with sync extension cords.
• The Photocell [6] will sense a flash release as well as signals from most IR sync
transmitters. The Photocell Switch [7] is used to enable/disable the Photocell [6].
• The Profoto Air radio system is integrated in all AcuteB2 generators, meaning that
the generators can be synchronized via a Profoto Air Remote or Profoto Air Sync
device.
