Setup:
1. Operate the machine on a

2. Being sure that the drawers are not slipped out from the wastebasket.
3. Plug the power cord into any standard mains supply outlet.
The
Piranha 102 DCC +
is operated by using a single turn-up type switch located on
the top of the shredder. There are 3 positions –
AUTO
,
OFF
,
REV
.
1. Selecting
AUTO
will enable the shredder to operate automatically when paper is
inserted, by activating the Infrared LED in the feed opening.
2. Selecting
OFF
prevents the shredder operating. This position is recommended when
the shredder is not in use.
3. Selecting
REV
causes the shredder to operate constantly in reverse. This is used
to help clear blockages.
Shredder capacity:
The
Piranha 102 DCC +
will shred up to 2 sheets folded of 80 gr/m
2
paper and will
accept widths up to 12.2 cm / 44 /5”. When shredding small material like envelopes or
receipts, insert them through the middle of the feeding opening. For the Compact Disc
(CD / DVD) or credit card, please insert it through each separate feeding opening.
Please do not insert more than one item at ONE PASS.
Paper jams and motor overheat situations:
The
Piranha 102 DCC +
is designed for low volume use and not intended for continu-
ous operation. It is equipped with a motor overheat protection device. The machine
is designed for short duty cycles where the maximum period for continuous shredding
is not longer than 2 minute on. The machine should be left to cool for minimum 40 mins
before continuing.
The power may terminate automatically in case of the following abnormal situations:
1. Operating the shredder at the maximum 2 sheets folded capacity continuously for
a prolonged period of time, eg, more than 2 minute without stopping.
2. Exceeding the shredding capacity, eg, inserting more than 2 sheets folded of 80 gr/m
2
paper at one pass, or if the paper is not fed squarely into the feed opening.
3. Caution: The shredder can not cut CD / DVD or credit card when it cuts paper, and
can not cut paper when it cuts CD / DVD or credit card.
