2. DESCRIPTION
The Z8SLAVE unit, combined with the ZONE8 master module, is the ideal solution for all applications requiring
simple audio systems to distribute both voice announcements and music everywhere or only to specific zones.
The system can broadcast an announcement up to 16 zones. This message can be preceded by a 2-tone or 3-tone
(selectable) alert signal. According to the dimensions and configuration of the sound system, this unit can control two
amplifiers simultaneously, one for music and one for voice (small to medium installations). In bigger installations, the
unit can also control one or more amplifiers per zone.
The whole systems is controlled by a series of microphone stations connected through CAT5 cabling and digital
audio transmission.
3. FUNCTIONS AND CONTROLS
Main Functions:

ON/OFF controls for music triggering on the zones.
•
Zone status LED.
•
Audio output on 8 zones presettable at 100V or 0dB according to the configuration used.
•
24Vdc bypass control and 100V 3rd wire for local volume control attenuators available for each zone.
•
RJ45 connector for connection to ZONE8 Master unit.
•
Power supply: 230Vac – 24Vdc (emergency status).
The Z8SLAVE unit has two operating configurations:

With two amplifiers
– Announcement or call in a specific zone / background music in all zones not
involved by the call.

C) With eight or more amplifiers
– Announcement or call in a specific zone / background music in all zones
not involved by the call. Configuration suitable for big installations.
