Chapter 8: Battery Management

This section describes your battery and similar to Chapter 3,

section o. ―Charging your battery‖ but goes into further detail.

a)

About your battery

The  Li-ion  battery  system  of  the  Outlaw  is  the  latest  technology  with  a  LiFEPO4  chemistry.  This  battery  is
maintenance free  with no serviceable parts.  You must never open the battery as this  will  void  the  warranty. Each
battery has a specific serial number and barcode which can be found on the underside of the battery. Please read
the warning labels on your battery.

b)

Removing the battery

The  Outlaw  battery  removes  easily  for  charging  or  storing.  The  battery  base  utilizes  an  ignition  key  to  lock  the
battery in place and to avoid theft. The battery will not power the bicycle unless locked in place. There are 3 points

on the ignition for the key. There is the ―UNLOCK‖ position which allows the battery to be removed and the key can

slide in and out. There is the ―OFF‖ position which locks the battery in place, the key can be slid out but the bicycle

is not powered. The last position is the ―ON‖ position. The bicycle is now powered ON, the battery is locked and the
key is in and cannot slide out.
