the appliance to the gas cartridge, and then refer to the instructions at a
regular basis to keep up to date on the appliance functions. Keep these
instructions for future reference.
1. Remove the burner and gas cartridge from the pot.
Fasten the burner to the gas cartridge.
2. Carefully screw the gas cartridge into the valve, until it touches the
O-ring of the valve.Make sure that no cross threading occurs when
you attach the gas cartridge.
3. Make sure that the seals of the appliance are correctly placed (1.1)
(see image) and in good condition before attaching the gas cartridge.
Never use an appliance with damaged or worn seals and never use a
leaking, damaged or malfunctioning appliance.
4. Changing or attaching the gas cartridge must be done outdoors.
Make sure there is no open flame nearby and that you are away from
other people. Shut the valve of the cartridge by turning the burner
valve (1.2) as far as possible clockwise. Make sure that the flame
on the stove has gone out, and that there is no other open flame or
source of ignition nearby.
5. If you have to check the gas soundness of the appliance, do this
outdoors. NEVER check for leaks with a naked flame. Use warm soapy
water only, applied to the joints and connections of the appliance.
Any leakage will show up as bubbles around the leakage area. If you
are in doubt or you can hear or smell gas, do not attempt to light the
appliance. Unscrew the cartridge and contact your local Primus dealer.
NEVER
cover the stove (gas cartridge) with wind shields, rocks or simi-

Overheating a gas cartridge by this means is highly dangerous.
1. Ignite the stove by turning the burner valve, while pressing the
ignition button repeatedly until the flame is lit and is burning
steadily. If necessary, repeat the ignition process when the burner
valve is fully closed.
2. Adjust the flame by turning the burner valve.
3. Only use the appliance in an upright position. Never move a lit
appliance. The flame may flicker before the appliance is warmed up,
or if it is moved suddenly.
