3. Using the Camcorder
3.1 Photo Shooting
Turn the camcorder on and press the MODE button or press the icon in the top left
hand corner of the touch screen to switch to Photo mode.

Line up your photo by looking at the LCD screen to see what is in shot.

Hold the camera and press the PHOTO button to take a photo.

The number of photos that can be taken at a particular resolution will
be shown in the top right corner of the screen.

A “no card” message will be shown on the screen if there is no SD card
in the camcorder. A “storage card full” message will be shown on the
screen when the SD card is full. In this instance, please insert another
memory card or save the photos to a computer to continue shooting.

The number of remaining photos is determined by the chosen photo
resolution. The higher the image resolution, the lower the number of
photos able to be saved to the memory card. Before taking photos users
can set image resolution (22M, 20M,16M, 12M, 10M, 8M, 7M, 5M, 3M,
2M).
3.1.1 Photo Size
This function sets the photo resolution. The higher the resolution, the greater the
photo quality and the larger the size of the image.
1. In Photo Mode press MENU, select ‘Resolution’ using the ZOOM button and press
the PHOTO button to enter the resolution sub-menu.
2. Push the ZOOM (right or left) and the PHOTO button to select the chosen image
resolution.
3.1.2 Photo Quality
The Photo Quality function determines the level of compression the image undertakes
when saving to a memory card.
1. In Photo Mode press MENU, select ‘Photo Quality’ using the ZOOM button and press
the PHOTO button to enter the photo quality sub-menu.
2. Push the ZOOM (right or left) and PHOTO button to select the required quality option
(normal/fine/super fine). Super fine uses the least amount of compression and as a
result produces a higher image quality.
3.1.3 Metering Mode
Metering mode refers to the way in which a camera determines the appropriate
exposure (quantity of light reaching the camcorder lens). Spot metering will only base
the exposure setting on a very small area of the scene, centre metering will use the
light from the centre of the viewfinder and the multi setting measures the light at
several points on the screen.
1. In Photo Mode press MENU, select ‘Metering’ using the ZOOM button and press the
PHOTO button to enter the metering sub-menu.
2. Push the ZOOM and PHOTO buttons to select the required metering mode.
