6.
Remove the protective rubber cover from the 1
st
Stage Regulator. Remove the
Cover/Retainer from the 2
nd
Stage Regulator. Pressurize the PEEBD by opening the
Control Knob valve. Using a leak detection fluid lightly cover all connections on the
PEEBD to check for any signs of leakage from the 2
nd
Stage Regulator, hose, pressure
gauge, safety disc assembly, 1
st
Stage Regulator, and cylinder neck (indicated by the
presence of bubbles)
Note: if any leakage is found, remove the PEEBD from service and attach a NON-RFI
tag to the system until the leakage conditions are corrected and the PEEBD has been
inspected
Allow the PEEBD to dry completely then reinstall the 1
st
and 2
nd
Stage Regulators and
reinstall the rubber cap.
7.
Briefly depress the purge button on the 2
nd
Stage Regulator to ensure that
sufficient airflow is provided to clear the 2
nd
Stage Regulator of water
8.
Immediately after releasing the purge button, listen closely to ensure that the
2
nd
Stage Regulator does not continue to allow any air flow.
9.
Replace the Cover/Retainer over the 2
nd
Stage Regulator
Provided these pre-issue inspection requirements have all been met, the PEEBDis now
ready for issue
