Traffic Program (TP)
Traffic program is another function of the RDS system. When in
the FM band and tuned to a station that broadcasts the TP signal
and indicator, the radio can be set to interrupt CD playback when
a traffic announcement is broadcast.
Selection of TP Station
Press the TP button and a station search will begin to locate the
next station broadcasting the TP identifier. TP stations can also
be tuned in manually or by seek or scan functions. When a TP
station is identified, "TP" will show in the top right of the display.
TP Stand-by ON/OFF
Should you want to interrupt CD playback to hear the traffic
announcements, tune in a TP station on the FM band, then select
CD. Press the TP button and the letters "TP" with a black
background will appear in the display. When traffic information is
broadcast, the tape or CD will be interrupted until the end of the
announcement.
If the TP button is pressed and the station tuned in is not a TP
station, the radio will seek the next station with TP broadcasts.
Pressing the TP button while a message is being broadcast will
interrupt the message and return to CD playback. Press the TP
button until the icon disappears from the display to cancel the TP
function.
Note
: During the time of printing the manual only a few stations
are transmitting the traffic program informations.
